Home :: Stuff :: To be, or not to be

11/28/2007

“To be, or not to be: that is the question:
Whether ‘tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
And by opposing end them.”

This pretty much sums up the feeling I have during and after our meeting with the doctors today regarding the condition of my Mother-in-law who has not shown much improvement over ARDS the past 2 weeks.

We had a decision to make, to take a chance of a risky procedure or to let her progress naturally. Lots of things to think about, many consequences to sort through, and countless emotions to deal with. But in the end the choice was easy, it is better to have a chance than to have none.

My wife is strong, she is handling this better than I hope she would. In fact she might even be handling this better than I am as I have been feeling a little helpless in all this mess that is happening around us.

I can only hope everything will work out.
